The Dragon Week has come to an end, and is to be followed by the Enigma Week, starting this Friday. With the emphasis on Psychic-types and other rare Pokemons, this week brings changes to raids, spawns and egg hatches, the week also brings new shinies as well as new Pokemon debuts in the game. The main focus for most trainers, however, will be the Shiny form of Deoxys Attack, which will be available in raids. So, let us have a look at all the events happening in this week, from raid bosses, to new shinies and Pokemon spawns.

What is Enigma Week In Pokemon Go?

Enigma Week

Enigma Week is the second event of the three time-limited events in Pokemon Go Fest, which is also a part of Pokemon Go’s Ultra Unlock week. The Ultra Unlock bonuses were earned by the attendees of the Go Fest, and the month of August will feature those weeks: Dragon, Enigma and Unova.

The Enigma Week will feature Pokemons which are considered to be ‘enigmas’ or mysterious in the game such as Cleffa (did it really come from space?), or Elgyem (perhaps it landed on earth with a meteor- noone knows for sure). Mostly focusing on Psychic-types, the Enigma Week will also feature some rare Pokemons in the game.

Ultra Unlock Week 2: Enigma Week Highlights

Enigma Week

The Enigma Week starts on August 7, 1:00 p.m. PDT, and will be available till August 14, 1:00 p.m. PDT. The week will have several bonuses such as increased spawns of rare Pokemons such as Bronzor, Clefairy, Baltoy and more, as well as increased chances of getting their shiny forms. Shiny Normal Forme Deoxys will see it’s debut in the game, along with shiny Staryu and Unown. Also, all the 7 km eggs you receive during the event will feature the same. A new set of field research tasks will be released, and upon completion, you get to encounter Elgyem- a new addition to the game.

Apart from this, the 5 star raids will see the return of Deoxys Attack, which also brings along, for the first time in game, it’s shiny form. Raids in Enigma Week will also see shiny forms of Unown U, L, T, R, A, which will go back into hiding after the Unlock event. So make sure you grab them before they disappear!

The Water-type Pokemon Staryu will also be available with it’s new shiny counterparts, and can be encountered in the wild. The colour changes from its usual light brown to white, with its jewel changing into light blue, which is a great contrast and looks quite good. We can safely conclude it is one of the best looking shiny in the game, and you should definitely add one in your collection.

Handy Tip To Hatch Eggs Quicker During Enigma Week

Total Walk Distance

As we always mention, hatching eggs can be a lot of hassle even though Niantic has reduced the walking distance in half. Especially the 7km and the 10km eggs which might seem impossible to hatch for some of you with hectic schedule; but at the same time you want those gorgeous shiny baby Pokemons which you might want to use in Go Battle leagues. So what do you do? Most importantly, how do we do it? Well, in order to test Shiny rates from egg hatches, we use this simple tool from Amazon, which gets us around, 65km to 110km on a daily basis.

We only recommend you this, if you are really serious about the game and want to hatch every Shiny that’s available in game, as it guarantees you Shiny hatches.

Enigma Week Raid Bosses

The raids during Enigma Week will likely feature greater Psychic-types, along with the biggest attraction of the week- Shiny Normal Forme Deoxys. It changes into bright yellow with green highlights, and is a stark contrast from its normal counterpart.

TIER 5 Raid Boss: Deoxys Normal Forme

Deoxys

Deoxys has 4 forms: Deoxys Attack, Deoxys Defence, Deoxys Speed, and Normal Forme Deoxys. However, only Normal Forme is coming back into raids. This shiny mythical Pokemon is going to be quite rare, so stock as much premium raid passes as you can, if you want to get your hands on one. Our recommendation will be somewhere close to 40, of course unless you’re lucky.
