What Is Unova Week In Pokemon Go?
Unova Week is the third and final event of the time-limited Ultra Unlock bonuses, which was unlocked for everyone by the attendees of the Go Fest 2020. Each week features special Pokemons in wild, egg hatches and raids, along with some special bonuses. The month of August saw two successful Ultra Unlock Weeks- Dragon and Enigma, and will now be followed by Unova Week and will run for seven days.
The Unova Week will focus on fifth-gen Pokemons, which were originally discovered in the Unova region. Players will get to see new debuts, along with new shinies in egg hatches, raids or wild, including the new shiny Genesect (which, BTW, looks gorgeous).

Handy Tip To Hatch Eggs Quicker
As we always mention, hatching eggs can be a lot of hassle even though Niantic has reduced the walking distance in half. Especially the 7km and the 10km eggs which might seem impossible to hatch for some of you with hectic schedule; but at the same time you want those gorgeous shiny baby Pokemons which you might want to use in Go Battle leagues. So what do you do? Most importantly, how do we do it? Well, in order to test Shiny rates from egg hatches, we use this simple tool from Amazon, which gets us around, 65km to 110km on a daily basis.
Unova Week Raid Bosses
The raids during Unova Week will be featuring mostly the fifth generation Pokemons of the Unova region. The highlight of the week is Genesect with its shiny form. Shiny Genesect changes from purple to bright red, a remarkable change for a Pokemon, and stands out from other shinies.

TIER 5 RAID BOSS: Genesect
Genesect is a mythical Bug and Steel-type Pokemon which was introduced in Generation 5. It has a total of five forms: Normal, Douse, Shock, Burn, and Chill; however only the Normal form is currently available in the game. If you are lucky, you might get your hands onto a shiny form, but it will be very rare, and we suggest you to start stocking up premium raid passes.
Being a Steel and Bug-type makes Genesect especially vulnerable to Fire-type Pokemons. It is boosted by Snow and Rainy weather. The top Pokemons to counter Genesect are:
NOTE: Shadow Pokemons are known for their higher attack stats, and if you have the shadow counterparts of the above mentioned counters, we recommend you to include them in your team.
TIER 1 RAID BOSS: Roggenrola
Roggenrola is a Rock-type Pokemon, which was originally discovered in the Unova region. It is vulnerable to Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel and Water-type Pokemons and is boosted by Partly Cloudy weather. The top Pokemons to counter Roggenrola are:
